Yelwarc II was built by Peter Crawley and his brother Michael Crawley over a period of 6 years, she is a 21ft Eclipse class yacht designed by John Westall the designer of the 505 racing dinghy and Snow Goose catmeran, commissioned by Cherry & Cherry. The first 30 years of Yelwarcs' life were spent on the Norfolk Broads (England). Peter Crawley's eldest son Leon and wife Jill subsquently bought her and moved her down to Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, to refit her and sail her on the river Avon and other local canals and rivers. Lady was an old (UK) Norfolk Broads Gaffer (Sail Number 138, built in 1928) that
my wife (Jill) and I (Leon) renovated in the early 80's. There
was a brief moment in time in 1985 when both boats came together for a sailing
holiday. Some photos from the 1985 Norfolk Broads 'Three Rivers Race'. In which Leon and Jill nearly entered White Lady in (but had to move house instead!). Misc
